Capturing a moment is what I love about photography and I believe, it is also one of the hardest components to master. The pressure can certainly be hard to create and capture a moment as my clients have requested but it is something I always try to do.
When my clients return to have more newborn and family portraits with me as their family grows I do a little happy dance. There is nothing sweeter than seeing a little girl who I photographed when she was just a few days old, come back to my studio with her new baby brother.
Adelaide was so incredibly proud and in love with her new little brother, Lennox, and was so excited to show him off for me. She loved being in all the photos with him and cuddling him so gently. I knew then that capturing “the moment” in this session was not going to be too hard.
Every newborn session is different. I talk with my clients before the session to get an idea about what is important for them to see reflected in their portraits. For some this is more about family portraits, for others it is about capturing all the tiny details of their newborn baby. I think you can tell what the focus was for our session together here.
Mum, Stacey wrote to me before the session that she wanted to “especially capture Addie and Baby in a sweet, nurturing moment. During the pregnancy Addie has been so attentive, so I would love to have at least one great keepsake when she is being the loving big sister. And a family portrait as well.”
So we did just that.
