Newborn baby girl portraits.
For many, baby girls are all pink. And I agree, pastel pink on a newborn baby girl is just divine as you can see I love from the first few portraits below. But I also love the simplicity of creams and whites. Neutrals in newborn portraits allow the new baby, this new miracle, to be the star.
I love adding delicate accents of felinity through lace, texture and small intricate headbands. Just to give a little nod that this perfect little being is indeed a gorgeous little girl.
The simplicity of a cream and neutral palette allows all the little details to be the focus point. The tiny toes and fingers. The little milk pimples on the nose. The tiny hairs still evident on the shoulders and back. This is why i love black and white so much. It lets us see the details rather than being distracted by the colours.
This gorgeous little girls session was even more special because I had the pleasure of capturing her big sister, Alice’s newborn portraits 3 years ago. Even more so again because I have known this family for many years as friends. I had such a wonderful time creating these beautiful family heirlooms for you and your family, Baby Sophie. I hope they are treasured forever.
