Sitter baby portraits are amongst my favourites because sitting babies are at the height of cuteness in my opinion. Whilst I do love every age, there are a few ages which I just adore and these are the ages I love to photograph. Newborns, 6-9 month old sitting babies and rambunctious one year olds!
So what is it about 6 month old sitters that I love so much?
For me, this age is the pinnacle of chubbiness. The real roly-poly-baby stage.
Just before babies start crawling and scooting around the house, when they are still happy sitting in one spot playing contentedly with their toys or toes. This is such a gorgeous age and stage, it is so fleeting and I love capturing it just as it is. No bells and whistles needed, just a gorgeous little baby, and her big beautiful eyes.
I love this age. I love the big bright eyes. I love the toothy-gummy grins. I love the belly laughs ad giggles. I love the chubby little wrists. I love the fat little feet and toes. I love the rosy red cheeks. And I love those chubby roly-poly thighs and tummies.
I love playing peek-a-boo pr tickles. I love seeing the joy brought on by a bubble or a big sister giving a kiss. This age is truly something spectacular! And I think Men Fox sums it up perfectly:
“As everyone knows, nothing is sweeter than tiny baby fingers and chubby baby toes.”
